As we already told you we managed to leave Jericoacoara after a little bit more than two month... and it was not easy. However what was waiting for us at our next stop - Tibau do Sul in Rio Grande do Norte - compensated us more than we expected.
The journey to Tibau do Sul was nothing special, many hours in buses that were cooled down to arctic temperatures, not very spectacular stop-overs in Fortaleza and Natal, and finally arriving at this little village somewhat after 8am in the morning. "We" in this case meant, 4 people with luggage of at least 15 travellers (backbags, surfboards, kites, guitarre...).

Changing buses in Fortaleza |
We choose Tibaus do Sul by purpose, although only 10km away we would have had the famous and a lot more touristic "Praia do Pipa" with a lot more Pousadas and party life going on. But as we got off the bus, we already knew it was the right decision: we just hopped off the bus somewhere because the busdriver had no idea where our hostel was, and so we were standing at the side of the street with heaps of luggage and no plan. We asked a local woman if she could tell us, where we had to go. She just smiled at us, took one of the heavy backbags, the kiteboard-bag and guitare and told us to follow her. We were quite surprised by her energy and had no other choice than to run after her. After a 5min walk we found our hostel, the nice lady put down our stuff, smiled again and a blink later was gone so fast that we couldn't even say a proper thank you.
Our hostel turned out to be supernice, we had a little house on our own with four beds in it and a little veranda. The next day three more of our friends arrived, so we occupied two little house in a junglelike garden with a lot of monkeys, iguanas and baby cats.
The breakfast was great with every exotic fruits you can imagine but the really outstanding thing was the surfing. Eyery morning we were driven to a nearby beach (Praia Madeiro) with a cute little VW bus and a lot of surfboards on top of it. But arriving at the parking lot didn't mean we arrived at the beach, before we had to climb down 170 stairs with our boards. And there it was: an amazing beach with nice waves, hardly any people at this hour of the day and, believe it or not, lots of dolphins hanging out in the water.
So yes, that's pretty much what we did for a week: driving a VW bus, climbing lots of stairs with surfboards and - oh yes! - we shared the waves we rode with dolphins. They came so close, you could even touch them. What else do you need? ... maybe a little bit of brazilian carneval so you don't get bored in the evenings!
It's commenly known that Brazilians get crazy at carneval time but it's hard to believe how crazy people can get until you're there getting crazy with them. That said, I think there's nothing more to add to our Tibau do Sul experience.
And before you'll get bored reading here some photos to get the feeling :)
