La Rioja – HOT, HOTTER, THE HOTTEST

After we left Rodeo, we first had to go back to San Juan before continuing north to La Rioja because there was no direct bus connection (remember, Rodeo = end of the world).
From San Juan it was another 6h bus ride to la Rioja and although there was a national strike in Argentina this day, we were lucky and arrived without problems. In the whole country, due to the strike, gas stations, public transportation (especially in Buenos Aires), the justice department, toll stations at the highway and many other facilities stayed closed and hospitals were only treating emergencies.

We were quiet unaffected by all this, as the temperatures in La Rioja didn't stop climbing higher and higher and we weren't able to move anyway (we stopped watching the thermometer at 42°C). We stayed at the hostel all day (right next to the fan) and met some really nice guys, Alvaro and Ornellia, brother and sister from La Plata. So we spend our time in La Rioja with some cold Quilmes (argentinian beer), with free spanish (actually "argentinean") lessons for Penzi (Boludo!).
Arriving in La Rioja

Had good times with the guys from La Plata
